If you are having difficulties with self injurious behavior, regulating your emotions, food and eating, restrictive food intake, emotional eating, purging, body image issues or any combination of these symptoms, I would be very happy to help you address these issues.   

I believe that getting through these difficulties requires an awareness of one's emotional, mental, physical and spiritual needs so that the person develops healthier ways of coping with day to day conflicts and struggles.  I emphasize balance in day-to-day life, as well as making decisions that promote recovery and feelings of well being.

I have been in the mental health field for over twelve years, and have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders and self harm for a majority of my counseling career.  Other areas of specialization also include unresolved trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder.  

I feel that these issues can be very complex and should not be minimized or oversimplified. Expertise combined with warmth, compassion and understanding are required.  I tailor my approach to treatment each client's needs, using techniques from a combination of treatment approaches depending on what is required to help the client in his/her recovery.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), modified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) are the primary approaches utilized.
